About The Position

The Learning Experience – Tuckahoe is seeking an experienced Lead Early Childhood Teacher to lead our 2-Year-Old (Preppers) classroom. This is an exciting developmental stage as children rapidly build language skills, independence, confidence, and their first friendships. We're looking for an educator who can provide the structure and nurturing support young children need while making learning engaging, active, and fun. As the Lead Teacher, you'll take ownership of your classroom, collaborate with your teaching team, and build strong relationships with families.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or High School Diploma with at least five years of relevant early childhood experience
Previous professional experience working with toddlers or two-year-olds is strongly preferred
Confident leading a classroom

Responsibilities

Lead daily routines and learning experiences in our 2-Year-Old classroom
Implement The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum
Create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning activities
Support language, cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development
Encourage independence, communication, and emerging self-help skills
Guide children through meals, toileting readiness, rest time, learning centers, outdoor play, and transitions
Use positive guidance to encourage appropriate classroom behaviors and early social skills
Maintain a safe, organized, nurturing, and engaging classroom
Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers
Observe children's development and communicate regularly with families
Follow all applicable New York childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
