Requirements

  • Must be able to perform minor repairs and routine tasks efficiently, correctly, and safely
  • Must keep clean and safe work area and comply with all plant specific rules, procedures, and duties
  • Minimum 2 years previous DOT experience
  • No on-road preventable accidents during the past (3) years as shown on the Motor Vehicle Road (MVR); accidents are reviewed by CMC Logistics
  • CDL A License
  • Electrical troubleshooting and installation skills
  • Brake certification
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose malfunctions on equipment and perform repairs
  • Operate the following mobile equipment: loaders, forklifts, trucks, material handlers and other various equipment to troubleshoot
  • Ensure all jobs are completed in a proficient and safe manner when working within the plant and/or garage shop areas while wearing Personal Protective Equipment
  • Ability to inspect vehicle(s) for any safety or operational defects using DOT, maintenance, and safety checklists and ensuring emergency equipment is in proper working order
  • Comply with DOT and state inspection requirements
  • DOT Manual compliance and regulations knowledge
  • Responsible to complete DOT manifests and paperwork
  • Trailer maintenance including electrical, tire changing and brakes
