About The Position

Repairs and maintains trailer and/or refrigeration equipment

Requirements

• Knowledge of all aspects of trailer repair
• Excellent mechanical repair skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to visually diagnose trailer issues
• Ability to read service and repair manuals
• Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion
• Ability to read work orders
• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
• Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to inspect trailer to determine repairs needed
• Good vision to inspect repair work
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
• Forklift Certification
• EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 608 mobile refrigeration as required by supervisor and/or location
• Valid Driver's License as required by supervisor and/or location
• Must have own tools
• Safety shoes (steel toe or composite) required

Responsibilities

• Receives and carries out instructions
• Services/inspects trailers and/or refrigeration units and determines defects and potential problems
• Knowledge of air brakes, electrical and suspension systems
• Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems and changes brakes, seals, and bearings
• Performs minor body repair
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned.
