Repairs and maintains trailer and/or refrigeration equipment
Requirements
Knowledge of all aspects of trailer repair
Excellent mechanical repair skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to visually diagnose trailer issues
Ability to read service and repair manuals
Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion
Ability to read work orders
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
Must be able to inspect trailer to determine repairs needed
Good vision to inspect repair work
Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and
inspections
Forklift Certification
EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 608 mobile refrigeration as required
by supervisor and/or location
Valid Driver's License as required by supervisor and/or location
Must have own tools
Safety shoes (steel toe or composite) required
Responsibilities
Receives and carries out instructions
Services/inspects trailers and/or refrigeration units and determines defects
and potential problems
Knowledge of air brakes, electrical and suspension systems
Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems and changes brakes, seals,
and bearings
