About The Position

The Lead DevOps Engineer is a key role within the SRC Team in the Application Services Division. Based in St. Louis, USA, the role supports a follow-the-sun operating model for trading venues and surveillance platforms, working alongside colleagues in the UK and Sri Lanka. The engineer contributes throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering through production deployment, and works with a wide range of teams to create developer-focused resources for cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, application builds, automated testing, code scanning, and production deployments. The role includes proof-of-concept implementations and pilots, and defining principles, policies, and standards. It develops frameworks, scripts, and templates that support consistent and efficient automation of software development lifecycle and infrastructure lifecycle activities, reduce manual intervention and duplication, and help teams gain the full benefit of standard tools and processes. Engineers work in small, agile, self-managed teams that emphasize best practices and shared responsibility for quality. The role calls for a collaborative “you build it, you run it” mindset, knowledge sharing, and removing constraints for teams. The position also provides operational support and technical leadership for MIT equities applications, including exchange, surveillance, and price dissemination platforms. Responsibilities span application onboarding, operational architecture integration, release deployment, monitoring, live-service issue resolution, support documentation, training, and collaboration across IT teams. The engineer participates in on-call support and weekend testing as operational requirements dictate.
