About The Position

The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for scaling Highway’s platform in AWS using effective DevOps practices. This onsite role in Dallas, Texas manages the company’s cloud-based solutions, supporting long-term scalability, risk mitigation, service quality, data security, and business continuity. The engineer works with the development team to test and deploy solutions that support the scale of the business.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing cloud-based infrastructure, specifically within AWS.
• Proven experience creating and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud-based solutions, such as ECS, RDS, Redshift, and ElastiCache.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee Highway’s cloud-based solutions in AWS, ensuring architecture supports long-term scalability and risk mitigation.
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and incident reporting processes.
• Drive automation initiatives and improve platform service quality.
• Own disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to minimize downtime and ensure data resilience.
• Implement data security best practices, define standards, and create processes around them.
• Work with the development team on testing and deploying solutions that support business growth.
