About The Position
The primary focus is to help organizations design, develop, and optimize their data infrastructure and systems. They help organizations enhance data processes, and leverage data effectively to drive business outcomes. This role involves leading current-state assessment and discovery activities for the Sybase environment, analyzing databases, ETL processes, applications, integrations, and data dependencies. The position requires defining the migration strategy, target-state architecture, and implementation roadmap, and driving the execution of migration activities, including database conversion, ETL remediation, data validation, and cutover planning. The Lead Data Migration will provide technical leadership across assessment, design, migration, and post-migration stabilization phases.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Sybase, including database structures, stored procedures, schemas, data models, and dependency analysis.
- Proven experience leading and executing database migration initiatives, particularly migrations from Sybase to SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL.
- Strong expertise in ETL and data integration, including Informatica, source-to-target mapping, data lineage, and migration planning.
- Experience analyzing legacy applications, databases, interfaces, and data flows to define migration scope, effort, risks, and implementation approach.
- Proficiency with Sybase, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, advanced SQL, and performance optimization.
- Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines using Java and supporting enterprise data ingestion frameworks.
- Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Docker.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data quality/reconciliation concepts.
- Ability to work closely with business and technology stakeholders to drive discovery, migration design, and implementation activities.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with experience operating in Agile delivery environments.
