About The Position

Join Our Team as a Lead Custodian at our Imperial Valley Campus! Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of students? As a Lead Custodian, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our student residential areas.

Requirements

Equivalent to one to two years of related custodial experience and providing on-the-job training and leadership to others.
Driving pickups and other automotive equipment and operating various automated machines (vacuum, buffer, power-washer, auto scrubbers, extractors, etc.)
Ability to lift and transport equipment, material and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance (in excess of 50 pounds with assistance).
Working knowledge of the methods, chemicals, and equipment used in custodial work and of the safety and sanitation practices and measures; and effective lead/supervisory practices and techniques.
Ability to provide lead work directions, including training others in proper work methods and safety and providing feedback on work performance.
Valid California Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Work alongside the Assistant Director, managers, staff, and students to carry out the mission, vision, and values of the Office of Facilities Services & Projects.
Lead and coordinate the activities of custodial staff to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students.
Promote high standards of sanitation and cleanliness, contributing significantly to the quality of life and learning environment for students residing in housing facilities.
Perform duties as part of a team, fostering respect, inclusivity, collaboration, and growth.
