About The Position

Join Our Team as a Lead Custodian at our Imperial Valley Campus! Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of students? As a Lead Custodian, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our student residential areas.

Requirements

• Equivalent to one to two years of related custodial experience and providing on-the-job training and leadership to others.
• Driving pickups and other automotive equipment and operating various automated machines (vacuum, buffer, power-washer, auto scrubbers, extractors, etc.)
• Ability to lift and transport equipment, material and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance (in excess of 50 pounds with assistance).
• Working knowledge of the methods, chemicals, and equipment used in custodial work and of the safety and sanitation practices and measures; and effective lead/supervisory practices and techniques.
• Ability to provide lead work directions, including training others in proper work methods and safety and providing feedback on work performance.
• Valid California Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Assistant Director, managers, staff, and students to carry out the mission, vision, and values of the Office of Facilities Services & Projects.
• Lead and coordinate the activities of custodial staff to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students.
• Promote high standards of sanitation and cleanliness, contributing significantly to the quality of life and learning environment for students residing in housing facilities.
• Perform duties as part of a team, fostering respect, inclusivity, collaboration, and growth.
