About The Position

Available Shift - Tuesday through Saturday 4am - 12:30PM. Reporting to the Custodial Supervisor, with additional lead work direction provided from other members of the Facilities Management team, the Lead Custodian provides a clean, safe, and attractive environment for students, staff, faculty, and University guests by performing the full range of custodial work and providing lead work direction for one or more employees engaged in custodial work.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to one to two years of related custodial experience.
  • Experience providing on-the-job training and leadership to others.
  • Beginning proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Must successfully complete a pre-placement exam.
  • Must possess and/or obtain and thereafter maintain a California Driver’s License valid for the operation of any vehicle or equipment required to maintain and operate.
  • Must reside in the State of California upon date of hire.
  • Must complete a background check satisfactorily.
  • Must disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.
  • Must sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct (if reaching final stages).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management system (facilities work order system).
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft.
