About The Position

Futures Recovery Healthcare is a state-licensed, Joint Commission accredited behavioral healthcare provider in Tequesta, Florida. Its patient-centered, holistic approach brings teams across the organization together to support healing and recovery in a safe and nurturing environment. The Lead Cook supervises kitchen cooks and runners and ensures the team provides outstanding customer service while preparing and serving food in accordance with food handlers guidelines. The role includes leading kitchen staff during shifts, following food safety and facility procedures, and helping maintain a professional and organized kitchen.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Florida State Food Handlers Certification as applicable.
CPR certification required.
Familiarity with a variety of cooking methods and procedures.
Ability to sequence and schedule demands and determine timing for use of equipment.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility with schedule.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Able to work all shifts and holidays.
Able to work in a fast-paced, hot environment.
Able to multitask.

Nice To Haves

Two to three years of cooking experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
Food Service Sanitation and/or ServSafe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead kitchen team members during their work shifts.
Prepare food according to food handlers' guidelines.
Communicate with Prep Cooks and wait staff.
Follow safety rules for kitchen equipment.
Label and date stored food and rotate food as needed.
Follow opening and closing procedures.
Adhere to facility standards for conduct, dress, attendance, and punctuality.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Attend in-service training when necessary.
Demonstrate a positive, professional approach consistent with ethical standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or director.
