About The Position

Tigg's Canteen Services is looking to hire a Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook for Grand Traverse County Jail in Traverse City MI. This role involves leading and instructing kitchen staff, preparing meals, and ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen environment within a structured correctional setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts - days and hours (between 9:00am - 6:00pm)
• Clearance approval into the facility
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Previous food service or kitchen experience

Responsibilities

• Lead, instruct, and assist with meal preparations including food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up.
• Read and follow company recipes.
• Work in a structured correctional environment.
