About The Position

Tigg's Canteen Services is hiring a dependable, motivated, and team-oriented Permanent Part-Time Lead Cook at Emmet County Jail in Petoskey, Michigan. The role involves leading and assisting with daily kitchen operations in a structured correctional environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, strong character, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with others. Previous food service or kitchen experience is preferred but not required; training is available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Flexibility to work varying days and hours, with shifts scheduled between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
• Ability to obtain clearance and approval to work within the facility.

Nice To Haves

• Previous food service or kitchen experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow company recipes and food service guidelines.
• Lead, instruct, and assist with daily kitchen operations.
• Participate in meal preparation, including food prep, baking, and cooking.
• Clean the kitchen.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with others.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
