About The Position

URGENTLY HIRING - LEAD COOKS for the Signature CT PRO Golf Tournament, a large and anticipated event of the season. This is a seasonal opportunity with great hours, approximately 8-9 hours per day shift. Weekend availability is incredibly important for this event. While full availability for the entire event (Wednesday 6/24 through Sunday 6/28) is preferred, it is not required. A uniform shirt and assignment will be given upon arrival on the first day.

Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or related role required.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision required.
  • Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage.
  • Food safety certification required.
  • Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Reliable Transportation
  • 6+ months of relevant experience in your applicable role
  • Authorized to Work in the U.S.
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs and remain on your feet for extended period

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisor experience in a related role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
  • Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
  • Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
  • Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons.
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
