Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary culinary arts training program OR at least two (2) years of experience in food preparation
  • Ability to obtain an Arizona Food Handler’s Card within 1 month of employment
  • Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
  • Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going drug and alcohol testing, as allowed by applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing food production and assuming the duties of absent Motel Management.
  • Planning recipes and menus to maintain company standards for food quality, presentation, and cost management.
  • Managing kitchen operations, ensuring sanitation and cleanliness.
  • Training staff in cooking methods and food preparation.
  • Monitoring and coaching kitchen staff.
  • Scheduling for caterings and deliveries.
  • Enforcing purchasing specifications and waste control procedures.
  • Training staff on food production principles and ensuring adherence to standardized recipes.
  • Evaluating current practices and initiating improvements to enhance product and service quality.
  • Filling in as needed to maintain guest service standards and efficient operations.
