The Lead Continuous Visual Monitoring Technician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. This role provides continuous safety observation via continuous video monitoring, of patients identified to be at risk for causing injury to themselves or to others. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: offering basic comfort measures to help the patient relax and addressing the emotional needs of specific patients served, including the use of encouragement, distraction, coping strategies, cognitive stimulation activities, and de-escalation techniques within the scope of this role as appropriate. The technician monitors multiple patients via continuous video monitoring on site at Delnor Hospital, providing effective verbal redirection of designated remote continuous observation patients from engaging in risk behaviors and summoning appropriate staff via communication device/STAT Alert Alarm when appropriate. The role also involves intake operations to receive orders, set up cameras, enter patient information, receive hand-offs from unit staff, ensure camera functionality, and assign patients to CVM techs. Discharge duties include discontinuing orders in Epic. The Lead also cross-checks orders versus camera numbers, assists with high acuity patients, troubleshoots with IT, Artisight, and Epic, collects data on hospital and camera usage, and manages staffing including daily assignments, admission/discharge management, liaison with the staffing office, break coverage, overall scheduling, leading shift huddles, and serving as the primary onboarding team member by scheduling orientation, facilitating check-ins, and ensuring competencies are completed timely.
