At The NOW, we believe self-care is essential. We are seeking an experienced Esthetician to partner with our concept development team in developing, refining, and launching The NOW's facial service concept. This is also a hands-on role: the lead concept development esthetician will personally deliver facials to guests during pre-launch testing and the initial launch period, not solely design and oversee the concept from the sidelines. This is a highly collaborative role. The lead esthetician will bring deep technical expertise in esthetics and skincare while partnering with leadership to shape the vision and strategy for the concept. The role will contribute expertise across service design, treatment protocols, product strategy, training, quality standards, and guest experience.

Requirements

• Active California Esthetician license.
• Experience developing, launching, or implementing new facial or wellness services, ideally within a spa, salon, or wellness brand.
• Strong understanding of facial guest service, consultation, and communication.
• Extensive knowledge of the skincare industry, including professional skincare products, ingredients, and product selection.
• Experience training or mentoring estheticians and translating techniques into consistent treatment protocols.
• Strong understanding of sanitation, treatment-room standards, and applicable California licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Passion for wellness, holistic care, and creating elevated guest experiences.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with operations, training, product, and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

• Bring an expert esthetician and service-provider perspective throughout the development of The NOW's facial concept.
• Share hands-on expertise in treatment techniques, service flow, timing, tools, and protocols.
• Review proposed facial services, treatment protocols, and service standards, including hands-on evaluation of treatment flow and execution.
• Personally perform facials on real guests throughout pre-launch testing and the initial launch period, to validate protocols firsthand before training other estheticians on them.
• Identify what makes the service practical, appealing, and sustainable for estheticians to deliver, including the training and support needed for success.
• Share perspective on what would attract experienced estheticians to The NOW and make the opportunity compelling to qualified facial talent.
• Participate in go-live and early implementation, offering an esthetician perspective on execution and opportunities for refinement.
• Train and certify estheticians at Phase 2 test locations.
