About The Position

The Lead, Composites Manufacturing Engineer will work at the Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, Alabama, which fabricates and assembles composite rocket motor hardware. This experienced professional applies proficient knowledge of manufacturing engineering and practical project-management skills, and may manage projects or processes with general supervision. The role communicates operational processes, practices, and procedures to internal and external contacts, recommends system and process enhancements, and works toward operational targets for assigned programs and projects. The position is part of a hands-on manufacturing team responsible for managing processes and creating associated documentation. The engineer must follow company procedures and requirements for manufacturing advanced, crew-rated, high-value aerospace hardware. The schedule is 4/10 on first shift: four 10-hour days per week. Five percent travel may be required to support suppliers or other manufacturing sites, with the possibility of more travel during periods of high demand. Occasional off-shift and weekend work is required to support manufacturing schedules. The employee must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
