As a member of GE Vernova’s CAD/CAM team, the Lead CNC Programmer contributes to factory volume ramp and standardization efforts. The role designs, programs, validates, and optimizes machining processes for complex multi-axis equipment and high-temperature superalloys, while supporting shop-floor operations, equipment integration, and process improvement. The position uses Siemens NX and other CAD/CAM software, digital-twin and simulation tools such as Vericut and Siemens Run My Virtual Machine, and advanced machining and diagnostic equipment. It supports large VTLs, VMBs, 5-axis mills, multi-purpose turn/grind machines, and other equipment up to 2.5 meters. The programmer works with Manufacturing Engineers and shop-floor teams to commission equipment, establish machining standards, prove out first-piece components, troubleshoot processes, train operators, and share technical knowledge. The role requires a degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent education and experience combination, along with experience programming CNC machines using a graphical CAM system. Experience with 5-axis programming, machine controls, probing and closed-loop machining, large-format equipment, and nickel-based superalloys is valued. Access to U.S. export-controlled information may be required; any offer is contingent on obtaining authorization where applicable. Relocation assistance is provided. The U.S. pay range is $81,700 to $136,700, with geographic differentials in certain areas and eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.
