About The Position
The Lead Clinical Lab Assistant plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the laboratory by accessing, labeling, and processing laboratory specimens. This position involves loading specimens onto lab analyzers and equipment, performing patient registrations, and entering lab test orders into the computer system. The Lead Clinical Lab Assistant is also responsible for producing and delivering lab reports. This role requires independent judgment on moderately to substantially complex cases and minimal instruction for day-to-day tasks, with general direction provided for more complex projects. Additionally, the Lead Clinical Lab Assistant will mentor staff on technical skills and perform other related duties as assigned. Responsibilities
- Accesses, labels, and processes laboratory specimens.
- Loads specimens on lab analyzers and equipment.
- Performs patient registrations and orders lab tests in computer.
- Produces lab reports, sorts, and delivers.
- Exercises independent judgement on moderately to substantially complex cases.
- Requires little instruction on day to day work and general direction on more complex tasks and projects.
- Mentors staff on technical skills.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
