About The Position

This position is for a Lead Child Development Associate at Lee Elementary, working 204 days a year, which includes 13 paid holidays. The role involves assisting in the oversight of the Project SCOPE program within an elementary school, in cooperation with the Project SCOPE office and the school principal. The Lead Child Development Associate is responsible for meeting the needs of individual children, treating each child with dignity and respect, and establishing a positive relationship with parents and children. The role also includes collecting fees, maintaining bookkeeping records, and assuming an equal share of housekeeping responsibilities with other staff. Attendance at staff meetings and participation in training programs are required, as is support for the school's rules and staff members. Other duties may be assigned by the Coordinator or Assistant Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Highly interested in school-age children.
  • Warm, positive attitude and an ability to relate with children and adults.
  • Willingness to fulfill the program goals.
  • MUST HAVE 60 college credits.
  • Become CPR and First Aid certified (Project SCOPE will provide the class).
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work a split shift 7am-10:30am / 2:30pm-6pm.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Child Care, teaching or related area of study.

Responsibilities

  • Collect fees from parents and maintain all bookkeeping records.
