About The Position

This role is for a Lead Certified Medical Assistant in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Ascension in Austin, TX. The position is in the Women's Health department and operates on a Day Shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4 PM. The Lead CMA will be responsible for overseeing daily shift operations, coordinating resources and team workflows to ensure seamless patient care. They will act as a hands-on technical expert, supporting colleagues and solving real-time challenges. The role involves creating a high-performance culture by monitoring work progress and ensuring alignment with safety and quality standards. Additionally, the Lead CMA will manage the orientation and training of new associates and optimize clinical readiness by managing supply inventories and medication samples.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Association for Health Professionals obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Healthcare Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-5 years of CMA experience
  • Team lead and training experience
  • Travel Required: Bastrop and Round Rock, TX - as needed
  • Must live within 75 miles of the clinic location
