The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is part of the care team in the ambulatory patient care setting and directly interacts with the patient, family, and caregiver in person, over the telephone and via the patient portal. The CMA advocates for the patient in the delivery of quality, cost effective patient care by performing the clinical tasks and duties assigned by the physician, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, and practice leadership to improve individual and population health. As the Medical Assistant Lead/Floater working under the direction of the Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing to assist with maintaining efficient patient flow and quality care during clinical hours. They are responsible for supervisory duties for medical assistant staff within their department. This position will train new staff in their department. They will be required to float to various departments as needed.
