About The Position

Waxing the City is seeking a full-time, licensed beauty professional with proven waxing experience to join its team as a Lead Cerologist. Cerologists are waxing professionals who complete a week-long, hands-on training course at Waxing University and become certified in Waxing the City’s techniques and standards. The Lead Cerologist is an experienced, high-performing service provider who delivers exceptional guest experiences, develops a loyal clientele, and takes on additional leadership responsibilities. The role models studio standards, mentors fellow Cerologists, and supports a positive, accountable team culture, with an opportunity to develop into a Cerologist Trainer. The position also involves learning and consistently following Waxing the City’s techniques, protocols, and culture.

Requirements

Current California state licensure in good standing as an Esthetician or Cosmetologist.
Weekend availability.
At least 2 years of professional waxing, esthetics, or high-volume hair-removal experience.
Willingness to learn and consistently follow Waxing the City techniques and protocols.
Ability to build strong client relationships and drive rebooking, retention, and repeat business.
Previous sales experience recommending products, services, memberships, packages, upgrades, add-ons, or other solutions based on client needs.
Experience working toward individual or team KPIs, sales goals, or performance targets.
Strong product knowledge and ability to connect aftercare recommendations to individual guest needs.
Demonstrated leadership, initiative, reliability, and professionalism, including the ability to model standards and support fellow team members’ development.
Coachable and committed to learning, consistently following, and helping reinforce Waxing the City techniques, protocols, guest experience, and studio standards.

Responsibilities

Perform professional face and body waxing services in accordance with Waxing the City standards, protocols, and state board regulations.
Build and maintain a loyal book of business through exceptional guest experiences, strong relationships, rebooking, retention, and referrals.
Educate guests on pre- and post-wax care and recommend personalized services, add-ons, retail products, memberships, and packages.
Meet individual performance goals for sales, rebooking, retention, and other key studio metrics.
Model studio standards for professionalism, sanitation, cleanliness, guest communication, teamwork, and accountability.
Support and mentor fellow Cerologists by modeling best practices, answering questions, and providing constructive feedback.
Participate in ongoing technical education, sales coaching, role-playing, and professional development.
Support studio growth and a positive team culture through collaboration, referrals, social media, community engagement, and daily studio operations.
