LEAD CASHIER
About The Position
The Lead Cashier is accountable for cash and electronic transactions. This role involves overseeing all cashiers to ensure work is completed appropriately, accepting accountability for cash transactions, and assuring all transactions are accounted for correctly. The Lead Cashier will also train new associates on Point of Sale (POS) systems, count down cash drawers with the previous shift lead present to ensure accurate counts and reporting, and check in with cashiers at least once an hour for drops and change needs. Additionally, the role includes providing customer service and information to patrons, prepping for the next shift, conducting money audits, supply checks, and verifying that cashiers have all needed paperwork. The Lead Cashier is responsible for ensuring quality service, customer satisfaction, clean facility areas, and a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Experience with cash and electronic transactions
- Ability to train new associates on POS systems
- Proficiency in counting down cash drawers and ensuring accurate counts
- Skills in providing customer service and information
- Ability to conduct money audits and supply checks
- Understanding of necessary paperwork for cashier duties
