Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) is a collaborative project involving local police, prosecutors, public defenders, corrections officers and social service providers designed to divert individuals arrested or suspected of low-level property crimes, drug offenses and/or prostitution into social services rather than the criminal justice system. These individuals will be engaged in supportive services with the goal of reducing legal recidivism and improving quality of life. LEAD case managers respond to police referrals as well as other social contact referrals within the Everett and Lynnwood city limits. LEAD Case Managers will also provide engagement and intensive case management for eligible and willing participants for this diversion program.
