About The Position

Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT collaborates with partners across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. The Credit Risk Reporting (CRR) team, within Risk Compliance Technology (RCT) under GFT, is responsible for a risk reporting platform application. This role involves leading projects for requirements gathering and supporting development and testing teams for medium to large-scale initiatives. The position requires coordination, leadership, communication, and execution to ensure objectives are met on time. Additionally, the use of AI tools like Github Copilot/RBC Assist is expected to streamline administrative tasks throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The Lead Business Analyst will support development and testing teams for medium to large project initiatives, working on large-scale, high-profile projects including critical internal business and regulatory initiatives involving high data volumes. The role offers exposure to the business nature and data representation of major banking products, and involves collaboration with business stakeholders, development teams, quality assurance teams, and vendors to build efficient and scalable solutions.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or higher, preferable in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Finance.
• 5+ years as a Senior BA in banking delivering system implementation/integration/re-engineering programs.
• Deep understanding of banking book and trading book products.
• Advanced SQL with strong data analysis and root-cause problem solving.
• Proven collaboration, professionalism, and ability to lead while executing independently across priorities.
• Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, SQL; ability to leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, RBC Assist).

Nice To Haves

• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designations
• Experience with Big Data or Database technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Pyspark)
• Data Science, Data Analytics or Data Reporting experience

Responsibilities

• Lead BA/BSA activities across analysis and design; govern adherence to enterprise requirements methodology.
• Elicit, document, and manage requirements (system specs, data catalogs, use cases) for medium–large initiatives.
• Analyze data integration options; assess materiality and impact of data quality issues; recommend solutions.
• Contribute to data model and solution architecture decisions for high-volume risk data.
• Support development and QA through the SDLC; identify risks and drive mitigation to deliver on time and on budget.
