Requirements

  • High school diploma/ GED
  • Prior experience installing and maintaining plumbing water and sere systems and equipment
  • 2 yrs of Supervisory Experience
  • Have a valid driver’s license, Successful completion of MVR
  • Capable of handling moderately strenuous physical activity
  • Provide own hand tools
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems
  • Boiler operation
  • Commercial laundry maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose plumbing and heating equipment malfunctions and make the needed repairs or modifications to the plumbing systems and mechanical apparatus as needed to keep the systems operations efficiently at all times.
  • Perform the equipment manufacturers suggested maintenance programs on a fixed schedule.
  • Adhere to the company’s mission, vision and value statements.
  • Be knowledgeable of the company’s management systems, policies and initiatives for Hospitality, Environmental, and Health and Safety.
  • The journeyman craftsmen will be assigned limited standby duties after hours and weekends, which require carrying a paging beeper or two-way radio. This duty is rotated equally among the department staff.
  • Responsible for the repair of all phases of plumbing-related problems including sewer stoppages, inspection of grease traps, fire hydrant repair, and new installations.
  • Attend training and observe all applicable OSHA and other regulatory compliance programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required by human resources and the EH&S office. Programs include, but are not limited to: permit-required confined spaces; respiratory protection; blood-borne pathogens; personal protective equipment (PPE); hearing conservation; lockout-tagout; spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plan; drivers safety; and, general proper operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed by supervisor.
  • Supports company environmental initiatives by maintaining equipment to maximize energy, water and fuel efficiency.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner in a safe environment.
  • Observe all requirements for the GTLC Hazard Communication Program.
  • Every Maintenance Department staff member will be assigned other technical work within the department when maintenance crisis occur within the company or work in their particular technical field is temporarily or permanently reduced.
  • Must clean up your job site and work area when finished with the assigned task.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
