About The Position

Full Time, 80 hours a PP, Monday-Friday daytime hours JOB TITLE: Lead Technologist LOCATION OR DEPARTMENT: Breast Center EXEMPT STATUS/GRADE: Non-Exempt/Step Scale REPORTS TO: Clinic Manager SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Leads all technologists and the Imaging Department protocols and procedures SUMMARY OF POSITION: In addition to performing technologist duties, accountable for certain management responsibilities, as assigned by the department manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Maintain and create appropriate staffing schedules to meet department workloads. • Represent the department for workflow and process issues, when working with other departments in the company. • Maintain procedures for the department in partnership with radiologists, clinic manager, IT and staff. • Perform exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care as needed. • Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers. • Other duties may include, but are not limited to: • Stocking and/or ordering department supplies. • QC/QA oversight. • MQSA inspection scheduling and packet preparation/coordinating bucket delivery to all outside facilities for yearly MQSA inspections. • ACR – coordinate with manager in renewals/applications. • Breast Center patient schedule – work with nurse to fit patients into schedule. • Communication of workflow changes/updates to staff. • Tech training for new duties or re-training when necessary. • Handles clinical concerns if Manager is not available.

Requirements

  • RT(R) or RT eligible from an approved educational program required.
  • 5 – 7 year Mammography experience preferred.
  • 3 – 5 year Lead preferred.
  • RT (R) (M) registration required.
  • CPR certification required within 6 months of hire and maintain in good standing.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology required.
  • Excellent patient care, problem solving, organizational, communication and technical skills required.
  • Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Supervisory/lead experience relating to scheduling, reviewing job performance, discipline and follow-up, and salary review.
  • Must be competent in using a computer keyboard, email, RIS (Radiology Information System) and PACS or similar applications.
  • Requires a moderate amount of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, gripping, twisting, turning and repetitive motion; some bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping and stretching.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Ability to assist patients to walk, sit, stand and move to and from the exam table, wheelchair and/or Hoyer lift.
