About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Lead Behavior Technician to help lead our GAP (Growing Adult Potential) program while empowering young adults with autism to achieve greater independence and success. As the Lead Behavior Technician, you will serve as both a mentor and a direct support professional, providing guidance to Behavior Technicians while ensuring the consistent implementation of high-quality, person-centered services. Working closely with program director and multidisciplinary teams, you will oversee the delivery of Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), model evidence-based interventions, and help create an environment where participants can thrive. This is a dynamic leadership role that combines hands-on support with coaching, problem-solving, and program coordination. You will assist in training staff, monitor service quality, provide behavioral guidance, and ensure participants receive consistent support across center-based, community, and vocational settings. Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Behavior Technician Training provided by AccessPoint.
  • Minimum age of 19 with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass all required background checks.
  • Current CPR certification or willing to become current
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to operate AccessPoint RI vehicles and/or provide transportation to clients as needed

Nice To Haves

  • prior experience working with individuals with special health care needs
  • a college degree is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource to DSP staff regarding program routines, daily procedures, and participant supports.
  • Model person-centered practices and positive interactions with participants.
  • Assist with onboarding and orienting new DSP staff to the GAP program’s routines and expectations.
  • Support implementation of participant goals and complete required documentation and data collection.
  • Communicate participant updates, concerns, and operational needs to the Program Director.
  • Help prepare materials, organize supplies, and maintain program spaces as needed.
  • Provide additional support and continuity when the Program Director is engaged in administrative or program development responsibilities.
  • Engage in work that aligns with the agency’s mission to help individuals with disabilities reach their fullest potential
  • Implement treatment and behavior support plans as developed by the clinician
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to client needs to ensure safety and promote positive outcomes
  • Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, state regulations, and relevant laws
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members
  • Demonstrate reliability through punctual attendance at scheduled sessions, meetings, training, and supervision
  • Maintain professional boundaries and positive working relationships with families
  • Uphold high ethical standards, including strict confidentiality of client information
  • Collect, record, and maintain data and documentation as assigned
  • Perform additional duties as directed by a supervisor
