About The Position

The Lead Before and After School Instructor guides elementary-age participants through sports, arts, STEM, and other hands-on learning activities in a YMCA Before and After-School Enrichment (BASE) program. The program provides a safe, caring place for students outside the classroom and supports teamwork, social-emotional learning, skill building, creative exploration, physical activity, and fun. The instructor supports the program supervisor and may guide staff or volunteers. The stated schedule includes weekday mornings from 6:45 a.m. until school starts and afternoons from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. The YMCA also provides full-day programming on non-school days and early-release days. Schedules vary by school and are arranged by the onsite supervisor. BASE leads start August 17.
