About The Position

The Before and After School Instructor guides elementary-age participants in sports, arts, STEM, and other hands-on learning at a YMCA Before and After-School Enrichment (BASE) program. The program provides a safe, caring place for students outside the classroom. Instructors support teamwork and social-emotional learning while encouraging skill building, creative exploration, physical activity, and fun. The position is part-time and onsite at Arbor Heights Elementary in West Seattle. Hours vary by school and location, with weekday shifts from 6:45 a.m. until the start of school and from the end of school until 6 p.m. The Y also provides full-day programming on non-school days and early-release days. BASE instructors start August 24; the year is not specified. The YMCA promotes equity and works to remove institutional and systemic barriers that result in oppression and racism.
