About The Position

Wright Bar is the Biltmore’s famous (and infamous) lobby bar embodying the renegade spirit of Hollywood’s Golden Age featuring craft cocktails and a light bar menu to include our signature Tequila Sunrise - the legendary cocktail that was invented here in the 1930’s! As a Lead Bartender, you would be responsible for making and serving beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction; prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests; and maintain significant menu knowledge of both the beverage and food menus. Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks. Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control. Check guests for proper identification. Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest and personnel guests including those served by other Servers to maintain accountability of all beverages served. Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed in order to balance all moneys. Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet. Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality. Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained. Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws. Lock up and store all beverage, food and other items, deposit cash drops and secure bank. Attend mandatory meetings. Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards. Keep work area clean and organized. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor. Adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed. This is a full-time position, and you must have availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts vary based on business needs but are typically between the hours of 10am-12am.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of Bartending experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant
  • Maricopa County Food Handler Card
  • TIPS Certified
  • Team player
  • Very organized
  • Great at multitasking
  • Excellent customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an upscale / luxury dining environment, preferred
  • Hotel / resort experience, preferred
  • Experience with POS systems - Micros or Agilysis is a plus
  • Title IV Certification, preferred
  • ServSafe Certified, preferred
  • CPR / First Aid Certified, preferred
