As a member of our centralized FinOps organization, you'll be at the center of driving a culture of cost optimization, operational efficiency, and AI-powered decision making across one of the largest AWS environments in the enterprise. This highly visible role combines cloud engineering, data analytics, finance, automation, and artificial intelligence while partnering with leaders across the enterprise. This is an opportunity to directly influence how cloud investments are optimized while helping shape the future of FinOps for AI and AI for FinOps. This position offers an opportunity to: Influence enterprise-wide cloud financial strategy across a multi-million-dollar AWS environment. Partner directly with senior leaders across Engineering, Information Security, Finance, Architecture, and Cloud Platform organizations. Drive next-generation AI for FinOps capabilities including intelligent anomaly detection, optimization recommendations, automated reporting, and decision support. Help optimize AWS pricing strategies through Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, commitment management, and consumption optimization. Design intelligent automation that safely eliminates cloud waste and improves operational efficiency. As an AWS FinOps Analyst, you will: Own AWS cloud spend analytics by delivering actionable visibility into cost drivers, trends, forecasts, and anomalies. Lead AI for FinOps initiatives, including: Intelligent anomaly detection Optimization recommendations Natural-language insights Executive reporting automation Decision-support solutions AI Cost Visibility & Token Economics- Establish and operationalize cost models (token, model, agent level) and enable enterprise-level AI cost transparency. Partner with cloud platform teams to optimize Reserved Instance coverage, Savings Plans strategies, commitment utilization, and overall cloud consumption. Identify infrastructure waste—including idle, orphaned, overprovisioned, and misconfigured resources—and quantify the financial impact of optimization opportunities. Build executive dashboards, forecasting models, KPIs, and self-service reporting leveraged by leadership and thousands of engineers. Develop analytics that leverage AWS Cost and Usage Reports (CUR), AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost Optimization Hub, AWS Trusted Advisor, and related services. Build trusted partnerships with engineering teams, cloud architects, finance organizations, data teams, and cloud governance stakeholders. Translate complex cloud consumption patterns into clear financial narratives and actionable business recommendations. Champion a culture of continuous cost optimization, accountability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Strong experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Experience using AWS native cost management and billing services such as: AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost and Usage Reports (CUR), AWS Cost Optimization Hub
  • Strong understanding of FinOps principles and cloud financial management.
  • Familiarity with: CI/CD pipelines and shift-left engineering practices.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience analyzing large cloud billing datasets.
  • Experience building executive dashboards and analytics using Amazon QuickSight.
  • Experience working with APIs, Python, SQL, infrastructure tooling, or workflow orchestration platforms.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical cloud concepts to engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to challenge conventional thinking.
  • Comfortable experimenting with new ideas and learning from failure to drive innovation.

Nice To Haves

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent FinOps certification.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, or other AWS certifications.
  • Experience with LLM/token-based pricing models (OpenAI, Claude, Bedrock APIs).
  • Governance & Automation – Implement policy-based controls, anomaly detection, and automated enforcement for AI cost management
  • Experience developing AI-enabled analytics or automation solutions.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Bedrock, generative AI, prompt engineering, or AI governance concepts.
  • Experience integrating AWS APIs and cloud automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of forecasting, statistical modeling, or anomaly detection techniques.
  • Familiarity with Cloudability.

  • Potential starting salary range: $107,000 - $142,000.
