The Lead Auditor supports the Audit and Assurance Division by strengthening the audit quality framework for the Beneficiary and Contributor Audit Program (BCAP). The role evaluates audit work, promotes adherence to professional standards, and drives continuous improvement across processes, tools, documentation, and training. It helps ensure audits are conducted consistently, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable requirements, including FCC rules, program guidance, updated audit standards, and AAD Workpaper Standards. The position contributes to protecting the integrity of Universal Service Fund programs and reducing fraud, waste, abuse, and improper payments. The Lead Auditor works in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and may oversee or perform program duties and enterprise or program-support functions. The position reports to the Senior Director of Audit and Assurance. It has no direct supervisory responsibilities but trains, coaches, and mentors BCAP team members and participates in interviewing and selecting AAD employees and contractors. Periodic, as-needed out-of-town travel is required.
