About The Position

We're hiring a Lead Audiovisual Technician to support our growing project workload. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role, from install through final commissioning and support. You'll own the setup, configuration, service, and troubleshooting of modern audio, video, and conferencing systems, plus the network gear and collaboration tools that support them. In addition, you'll act as the lead on-site professional, guiding field teams and keeping quality high on every job. If you enjoy complex builds, clear drawings, and high standards, you'll fit in well. This role is a strong match for someone who understands low-voltage wiring, electronics, architectural plans, and AV-over-IP, and who takes pride in high performance work and exceptional client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience 3 to 5 years of commercial AV installation and field deployment experience.
  • Prior lead or supervisor experience is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, including routing basics, VoIP, SIP, and enterprise network needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, plus solid judgment under pressure.
  • A customer-first mindset, with consistent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Clean Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • AVIXA CTS or CTS-I is preferred.
  • Manufacturer training (Crestron DMC-D, Biamp Tesira, Extron) is a plus.
  • OSHA-30 is also a strong advantage.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site delivery of full AV installs, including video conferencing endpoints, digital signage, audio systems, and room control interfaces.
  • Build and wire racks, mount equipment, and prep sites for installation.
  • Install display mounts, ceiling projectors, screens, wall displays, and speaker arrays, with a strong focus on safety and fit.
  • Pull, dress, label, and test low-voltage cabling for audio, video, data, and control.
  • Crimp, solder, and terminate common connectors, including RJ-45, XLR, BNC, RCA, DB-9, and Phoenix.
  • Configure, test, and commission network hardware and software used in AV systems.
  • Load and test control system code, and make small updates when needed (Crestron, AMX, Extron).
  • Load and adjust DSP files as required (Biamp Tesira, ClearOne), then verify results in the room.
  • Set up network settings, including IPs, subnet masks, and gateways, and use command-line tools to confirm connectivity.
  • Integrate conferencing platforms and room systems, including Cisco, Polycom, and cloud collaboration tools.
  • Resolve advanced issues tied to signal flow, network connections, device failures, and software conflicts.
  • Use test tools like multimeters, impedance meters, cable testers, and video pattern generators to confirm system health.
  • Handle preventive maintenance, post-install service calls, and system updates, so rooms stay reliable.
  • Lead and support a team of installers and technicians, while keeping timelines, safety, and quality on track.
  • Read and work from architectural drawings, blueprints, reflected ceiling plans, and AV schematics.
  • Keep project records current, including daily updates, inventory tracking, timesheets, and redlines for final as-built documents.
  • Act as the main on-site contact for clients, run final walkthroughs, and train end users on system basics.
