About The Position

AmeriLife is seeking a Lead Integration Developer with 10+ years of experience in enterprise integration delivery and primary hands-on expertise with the MuleSoft platform. The role focuses on implementing API-Led connectivity and event-driven integration architectures across distributed enterprise systems, with responsibility for API design and lifecycle management and technical leadership throughout delivery from design through production support. The developer will create scalable MuleSoft integration solutions, guide API implementation and governance, and collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and delivery teams. The role also includes mentoring developers, supporting CI/CD and release automation, and ensuring integrations are observable, secure, performant, and reliable in production. Requirements

10+ years of software/integration development experience with a strong enterprise project delivery background.
Deep hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Mule runtime, API Manager, Exchange, and Runtime Manager.
Proven experience implementing API-Led integration patterns at scale.
Strong practical experience with event-driven integration and asynchronous processing patterns.
Good knowledge of API design principles and standards using RAML and/or OpenAPI.
Solid understanding of API lifecycle management, governance, versioning, and policy enforcement.
Experience developing RESTful APIs and integrating with SOAP/legacy services when required.
Hands-on experience with message queues and integration with Kafka or similar streaming platforms.
Strong understanding of security implementation, including OAuth2, JWT, client credentials, mTLS, and API policies.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and environment-based deployment strategies.
Strong debugging, performance tuning, and production support capabilities.
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions across teams.
Experience with cloud integration deployments and hybrid architecture.
Exposure to Azure Integration Services.

Nice To Haves

MuleSoft certifications, such as MuleSoft Certified Developer or Platform Architect.
Familiarity with microservices integration and serverless/event-triggered processing patterns.
Experience in Agile delivery models and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver scalable integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
Implement API-Led architectures using System APIs, Process APIs, and Experience APIs.
Build and maintain event-driven integrations using asynchronous messaging and streaming patterns.
Develop reusable integration assets, shared components, and accelerator frameworks for delivery teams.
Lead API implementation best practices, including naming standards, versioning, error handling, and security.
Drive API lifecycle management across design, development, testing, deployment, publishing, monitoring, and deprecation.
Collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
Create RAML/OpenAPI specifications and ensure conformance between API design and implementation.
Implement observability, logging, alerting, and performance tuning for production integrations.
Guide CI/CD setup and release automation for Mule applications and APIs.
Mentor developers through code reviews, design walkthroughs, and development standards.
Troubleshoot complex integration issues and ensure high-quality, resilient production operations.
