About The Position

Eaton’s Power Systems Division is currently seeking a Lead Application Engineer. This position is part of a dynamic Switchgear marketing team and serves as a technical expert for the application of Underground Switchgear products. This role is responsible for marketing, product, and application support in assigned territories. You will also define and service immediate customer requirements, identify opportunities for new product development, and promote existing products to drive profitable product line growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in marketing, engineering, sales, or product support.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience working with electric power distribution switchgear, applications, systems, and standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively own assigned sales regions in collaboration with sales team to drive growth and establish priorities.
  • Perform specification/application reviews to guide the Proposals team in preparing larger or more complex quotations.
  • Work with Eaton’s field sales team to cultivate customer relationships and specify appropriate products, solutions, and innovation ideas. Meet with customers at factory and at customer sites to discuss customer needs, sales opportunities, and product issues.
  • Support analysis and resolution of customer complaints.
  • Handles more complex technical issues and provides advanced solutions.
  • Collect voice of customer (VOC), develop product requirements, and prepare/present business cases for highly strategic projects.
  • Develop promotional material, sales tools, and promotional programs.
  • Conduct sales force training advanced product applications and drive development of additional training materials.
  • Serve as marketing representative in new product project teams for highly strategic projects.
  • Lead marketing projects such as marketing studies, competitive studies, and customer loyalty programs.
  • Monitor industry trends, application trends, competitive products, and new technology developments to become technical expert on Underground Switchgear products and markets.
  • Identify and analyze opportunities for product innovation.
  • Participate in developing long term strategies and marketing material for business reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the marketing team.
