About The Position

S&P Global Market Intelligence Inc. seeks a Lead, Application Development in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role creates technical designs, develops high-performing software applications, and ensures quality through robust testing. It designs and implements scalable search solutions and develops machine-learning algorithms, including Learning to Rank (LTR), to improve platform search. The role designs and trains ranking models using synthetic and real user click data, and develops, tests, and implements Agentic search and Generative AI capabilities to improve search and enable future enhancements. It also performs feature engineering, automates deployments through CI/CD pipelines, monitors application performance and issue tracking, and diagnoses and resolves production issues to maintain system stability and timely incident resolution. The position follows a hybrid work schedule. On days when the employee is not in the office, telecommuting is permitted within normal commuting distance of the Raleigh office. The anticipated base salary range is $171,990 to $206,350, with final compensation based on factors including geographic location, experience, skills, training, licenses, and certifications. The role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and S&P Global benefits.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related IT field.
Five years of experience in application development, software development, or a related occupation.
Five years of experience with Core Java; Spring Inversion of Control (IOC), Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP), Java Persistence API (JPA), Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) Template, and Model-View-Controller (MVC); Hibernate; Tomcat Application Server; Oracle database; REST Web services; and Kafka messaging.
Five years of experience with database performance tuning and SQL query optimization.
Five years of experience with end-to-end application design and development.

Responsibilities

Create technical designs and develop high-performing software applications.

Perform feature engineering, including vector similarity, recency, and entity-based features.
Automate deployment workflows using CI/CD pipelines.
Monitor application performance and issue tracking.
Diagnose and resolve production issues, ensuring timely incident resolution and system stability.
