About The Position

The mission of the Blue Square Alliance Against Hate (BSA) is to win the hearts and minds of non-Jews and Jews through powerful positive messaging and partnerships, motivating and equipping them to be defenders of and upstanders for Jews. BSA focuses on spreading the Blue Square and associated programs to spur action by people of all backgrounds. Working with a network of partners, BSA leverages unique monitoring technology to drive effective rapid response to Jewish hate and all hate, in addition to proactive programs that galvanize popular support for the Jewish community. The Lead Antisemitism Research Analyst will be passionate about using data and research to deeply understand and support BSA’s efforts to educate and engage people in standing up to Jewish hate. As the primary research lead and point of contact for the BSA Command Center, this role will lead monitoring and analysis using social media listening tools and support the design and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative market research, including BSA’s national tracking study on antisemitism, the largest of its kind in the United States. The Lead Research Analyst will translate complex research findings into clear, actionable insights that inform messaging, campaigns, partnerships, and public-facing content. This role will also provide research analysis on specific topics and trends related to antisemitism and hate, support strategic initiatives across the organization, and collaborate with partner organizations to share data and insights that advance their missions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of prior experience in a professional environment.
  • Strong understanding of historical and current topics related to antisemitism, Jewish community, and Israel.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media tools (Brandwatch experience preferred).
  • Experience working with market research datasets (e.g., SSRS outputs) in Excel, including cleaning and organizing data, building crosstabs/pivot tables, and creating charts that highlight key trends and insights.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure partnership activity is integrated across the foundation’s activities.
  • Extremely organized and proactive with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or demonstrated interest in Judaic studies, Holocaust education, antisemitism studies, or related fields is a plus.
  • Experience with statistical software used in market research (e.g., SPSS or R) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead data analyses utilizing BSA’s Command Center technology monitoring online conversations regarding antisemitism.
  • Manage a customized Brandwatch installation to optimize queries, data ingestion, and classification within the monitoring system.
  • Discover insights that will inform overall marketing strategy, weekly newsletter content, regular partner communications, and daily social media content.
  • Identify and research specific topics and trends regarding antisemitism and hate.
  • Author and lead the planning, content development, and execution of the Command Center weekly email newsletter.
  • Support the design and analysis of market research studies, and prepare market research outputs in Excel by cleaning datasets, building crosstabs/pivot tables, and creating charts and written insights for reporting.
  • Coordinate and create monthly reports for external partners.
  • Lead the creation of custom presentations and reports for high-level visitors, such as influencers, partners, business leaders, and university presidents, on the conversation trends localized to their community.
  • Review content, including studies and social media posts, from partners and aligned groups and make recommendations for sharing and cross-promotion.
  • Liaise with partner organizations to support their usage of Command Center technology and research.
  • Provide guidance to post-graduate fellows in daily research, analysis, and reporting projects.
  • Serve as the internal expert on social listening and AI-enabled monitoring tools, continuously improving how the Command Center ingests, classifies, and analyzes public online content related to hate and antisemitism.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
