The Clinical Addictions Research Laboratory (CARL) was established in 1997 under the direction of Andrea King, PhD., Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Chicago. The lab's mission is to determine factors contributing to excessive use of alcohol, tobacco, and other substances, and to develop more effective interventions for substance use disorders, particularly tobacco dependence. The Research Analyst will work within a clinical research laboratory conducting human research, including laboratory and intervention studies involving alcohol administration, tracking drinking and substance use behaviors, vaping and smoking cue research, and treatment studies. This role involves assisting the Principal Investigator and Study Coordinators in managing and coordinating laboratory operations and personnel. The position requires strong research analytical, problem-solving, administrative, and organizational skills. Experience with Redcap databases is preferred. The ability to train and supervise others and to work collaboratively in an academic environment is essential.
