About The Position

We are revolutionizing the pet industry and are looking for a confident, compassionate, and capable Lead Animal Care Attendant to help guide the daily operations at Two Ponds Lodge. This role is for someone who can manage various tasks simultaneously, from cleaning to medication management, and is a go-to person for pet advice. Destination Pet is more than just a pet care center; it's a community dedicated to enhancing the lives of pets and their families. Since 2016, we have provided comprehensive pet care services including daycare, boarding, grooming, training, and veterinary services, aiming to make pets feel at home and their owners feel at ease.

Requirements

  • Obsession with animals and a demonstrated passion for their well-being.
  • Previous work experience in animal care.
  • Medication administration experience.
  • Ability to lead by example in all aspects of animal care and facility maintenance.
  • Calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Confidence in guiding and supporting teammates.
  • High school diploma.
  • Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to be on feet most of the shift, including standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the pack during assigned shifts, coaching, guiding, and setting the tone for pet care excellence.
  • Working alongside Animal Care Attendants to ensure safety, cleanliness, and a positive environment for pets.
  • Training new hires on proper pet handling, procedures, and facility protocols.
  • Monitoring pet guests for health, safety, and overall well-being, reporting any concerns to management.
  • Administering food, fresh water, and providing daily care to all pet guests.
  • Overseeing medication administration and special needs care for pets.
  • Bathing and brushing pets.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility, ensuring a pleasant environment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
