About The Position

CVS Health is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design, implementation, and deployment of cloud-native, AI-powered healthcare solutions. This hands-on technology leadership role works across Product, Architecture, Engineering, Data, and Business teams to turn ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions. The role combines AI expertise, cloud architecture experience, healthcare industry knowledge, and business acumen, with a pragmatic focus on achievable business outcomes.

The architect guides product strategy, defines solution architecture, oversees implementation, and ensures successful deployment of AI-enabled products and platforms. The role also leads architectural initiatives and design reviews, contributes to modernization opportunities for the Healthcare Business Unit, and mentors architects. This position is full-time and offers a base pay range of $106,605 to $260,590, with eligibility for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program and an equity award target. Requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering and architecture roles, such as technical lead, solution architect, or enterprise architect.
• Strong experience understanding non-functional requirements, including SLAs, response time, real-time and near-real-time needs, and multithreading, and designing solutions to meet them.
• 5+ years of full-stack development experience.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and relevant database technologies.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS), microservices, and API design.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AI/ML or Generative AI technologies.
• Experience with DevOps tools, including Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker, and Git, and with Kafka.
• Experience with Java, Python, Spring Boot, and front-end frameworks such as Angular or JavaScript.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and business processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with healthcare interoperability standards FHIR and HL7.
• Experience or certification in one or more cloud platforms, including Salesforce, GCP, Azure, or AWS.
• Experience with large-scale migrations from legacy technology or assets to modern or new assets.

Responsibilities

• Identify, define, and execute end-to-end AI-enabled strategic solutions aligned with project objectives.
• Lead and supervise architectural initiatives within assigned projects or areas.
• Develop architectural designs and solutions that adhere to standards and best practices.
• Mentor and guide junior and senior architects in project-related tasks and skill development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver effective architectural solutions.
• Work with business analysts, data engineers, IT teams, management, and other stakeholders to understand needs and align business and development teams.
• Assess new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve application processes and recommend adoption where appropriate.
• Lead and participate in architecture design reviews, identify gaps, and recommend design changes.
• Participate in the Architecture community to drive modernization opportunities for the Healthcare Business Unit while accounting for the complexities of the IT landscape.
• Guide product strategy, oversee implementation, and ensure successful deployment of AI-enabled products and platforms.
