About The Position

Airbnb is seeking a Lead, Advanced Analytics, Acquisition to support the acquisition of new Hosts and drive the business's growth. The individual in this role will focus on in-depth data analysis, metric definition, benchmark creation, experimentation, and synthesis to high-level insights for prioritization. This role involves conducting advanced data analysis to extract actionable insights, collaborating with business teams to provide data-driven insights, defining new metrics, building dashboards, and conducting A/B tests. The role also requires collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Strategic Finance, Data and Analytical Engineering, and Data Science.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of industry experience with a degree (Masters or PhD is a plus) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research).
  • Prior experience in advanced analytics or business data science within a marketplace or business strategy setting.
  • Deep understanding of econometric and statistical analysis, and experience in applying these skills to derive insights from broad data sets.
  • Strong expertise in at least one programming language (Python or R) and SQL.
  • Experience with AI-assisted analytics (Claude, ChatGPT, etc).
  • Exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking skills, and the ability to make informed judgments.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with a variety of stakeholders and conveying complex concepts in an accessible manner.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence across functions.
  • An agile, growth-minded approach, demonstrated through a history of driving projects from ideation to impact.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced data analysis to extract actionable insights that inform strategic decisions
  • Collaborate closely with business teams, providing data-driven insights to support strategic decisions
  • Define new metrics and identify leading indicators of key business outcomes
  • Build dashboards to track key performance metrics across markets and customer segments to establish benchmarks
  • Conduct A/B tests to improve business performance and maximize incrementality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Strategic Finance, Data and Analytical Engineering, and Data Science, to align strategies and leverage synergies
