About The Position

Wipro Limited is hiring a Lead Administrator L1 to support Linux administration in complex environments. The role is responsible for operating-system upgrades across virtual machines and physical systems, as well as firmware upgrade procedures. It includes OS installation and configuration, compliance tooling, storage and network adapter configuration, and cluster-related setup and support. The administrator will develop and maintain Ansible automation for OS provisioning and configuration, patch management and compliance enforcement, user management, package installation, and system hardening. The role also involves maintaining Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, and variables; integrating Ansible with CI/CD and DevOps pipelines where applicable; and preparing root-cause analyses (RCAs).

Requirements

5–8 years of experience.
Linux administration experience.
Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting and Perl scripting.
Exposure to RAC cluster prerequisite setup.
L3-level knowledge of VCS clusters.
Knowledge of VXVM and VCS service groups.
Knowledge of DevOps tools.
Ability to use Ansible for system automation and management.

Responsibilities

Perform OS upgrades in complex virtual-machine and physical environments and carry out firmware upgrade procedures.
Install and configure operating systems.
Set up and work with OS compliance tools.
Configure and troubleshoot HBA and NIC load balancing.
Support RAC cluster prerequisite setup and provide L3-level support for VCS clusters and VXVM/VCS service groups.
Develop and maintain Ansible automation for OS provisioning, configuration, patch management, compliance enforcement, user management, package installation, and system hardening.
Create and manage Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, and variables.
Integrate Ansible with CI/CD and DevOps pipelines where applicable.
Prepare root-cause analyses (RCAs).
