About The Position

Boyd Gaming Corporation is a successful and premier casino entertainment company in the United States. We are seeking a Lead Accounts Payable professional to join our team. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts payable processes, including invoice matching, payment processing, and tax accruals, all while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in accounts payable required.
  • Beginner level skills with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook.
  • Basic office equipment proficiency.
  • 10-key by touch.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles, accounting practices and theories.
  • Working knowledge of state specific regulatory requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (in English).
  • Ability to resolve all situations in a professional manner.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize based on urgency, and work through high volume and stressful time periods.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous knowledge and experience with financial systems (Workday and Coupa).
  • Previous experience working in a similar casino resort or Financial Shared Services Center setting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent.
  • APS certification (Accredited Payable Specialist).

Responsibilities

  • Match vendor invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents, verifying accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the interface between Coupa and Workday.
  • Coordinate to receive missing vendor information and resolve variances.
  • Ensure payments are made in accordance with vendor terms and capture all available discounts.
  • Verify, calculate, and accrue applicable taxes within all jurisdictions where the company does business.
  • Communicate problems or discrepancies to supervisor/management in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Observe and follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested.
