About The Position

This position is responsible for serving food and drinks to our guests. In all interactions, the position is responsible for providing STAR Experience to guests and fellow team members a first priority. Shooting Star Casino team members will always deliver excellent guest service to our guests and fellow co-workers. Our Star Service expectations include being: WELCOMING – Make every person feel invited and accepted PROACTIVE – Anticipate Guest needs UNIQUE – Create a one-of-a-kind experience at every opportunity RESOURCEFUL – Resolve the need COMPLETE – Take care and close. Listens and responds to guests concerns to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction. Refers guest to the appropriate department or function for issue resolution. Provides a friendly atmosphere. Ensures guest expectations are met. Makes sure orders are taken and delivered in a timely manner. Enters orders into Agilysys. Checks to make sure kitchen received your order. Buses and pre-buses tables. Checks back with guest for any additional expectations. Orders are taken in proper order of guest arrival. Maintains and organizes area for daily operations. Orders, restocks, and sets up the restaurant. Puts freight in proper storage areas. Maintains sanitation regulations to provide a safe environment. Keeps work areas clean (e.g., equipment, counters, tables, floors, condiment trays, etc.). Washes hands frequently. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

No minimum education or experience required.
One month of experience preferred.
Must meet licensing requirements as prescribed by the Tribal-State Compact for gaming.
Knowledge of promotional programs offered by the casino.
Knowledge to maintain a positive attitude under stressful situations.
Skill of developing and maintaining positive relationships with external and internal guests.
Skill of receiving a message and understanding the intended message and giving feedback to ensure guest’s expectations are met.
Ability to follow policies and procedures of the Shooting Star Casino.
Ability to lift up to 25-30 lbs.
Ability to bend, reach, hear, and to stand and walk for long periods of time (8 hours).
Ability to know and learn menu items.
Ability to communicate with team members.

Ongoing and continuing education may be required of certain compact and non-compact positions. This will be outlined upon hire by the specific department.
Alcohol awareness, safe food handling certificates, licenses & designations.
