Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related mental health discipline with an emphasis on clinical experience.
• Three years experience past Master’s in the mental health field.
• One year of experience working with oncology patients.
• Licensed as a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor).
• Must be CPR certified.

Nice To Haves

• Prior clinical experience providing outpatient mental health or inpatient psychiatric services.
• Specialized training in cancer care through continued education and on the job experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides a wide variety of psychological and social work interventions to center’s patients, families, and significant others.
• Removes psychosocial barriers that inhibit the treatment process.
• Provides support services to patients to meet individual needs, coordinate treatment, assist clients in achieving the best possible functional level, maximize symptom self-management, and enhance quality of life and recovery.
• Provides crisis intervention, distress screening, risk assessments, and connects patients to community resources.
