Layout Technician I
About The Position
This position requires strong visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors, along with reading, writing, and above-average math aptitude (basic algebra and trigonometry). The ideal candidate will possess dexterity, depth perception, problem-solving skills, and be self-motivated. Key abilities include reading and interpreting dimensional drawings, proficiency in measuring skills, and knowledge of test equipment. Fluency in English and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel are also required. In addition to training and experience, applicants must pass a preliminary aptitude exam (70% or above) approved by the departmental manager/supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Minimum 1 year as a Fixture Technician or equivalent
- Vision-sight, cannot be color-blind

Responsibilities
- Responsible for 100% first article casting layouts & delta layouts
- Quarterly equipment calibrations plant wide
- Be able to identify all types of casting defects
- Assist in correcting non-conforming casting with scribe lines to bring suspect features or surfaces within blueprint tolerances for location and size.
- Must be able to accurately use all types of MTE (height gages, micrometers, verniers, dial indicators, etc.)
