Lawn Technician - Ft Myers
About The Position
Turner Pest Control is hiring a Lawn Technician in Ft Myers. The role involves working outdoors to help customers maintain healthy, green, pest-free lawns. The technician identifies lawn and pest issues, applies treatments, monitors lawn conditions, and develops recovery plans when lawns need additional care. The position includes checking customer properties, identifying issues early, and providing follow-through on lawn recovery efforts while keeping customers informed. This is a field-based role with paid training, opportunities for advancement, and a take-home company vehicle. The schedule is flexible between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and some weekend work is required. Employees must be able to work outdoors in regular seasonal weather, use personal protective equipment, and safely move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license held for at least 3 years and an acceptable driving record.
- Basic math skills to measure and mix product applications accurately.
- Ability to safely operate a variety of hand tools and equipment.
- Technical proficiency with computers and smartphones.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Ability to safely move around customer locations, ascend and descend stairs and ladders, and position oneself to service areas under or around furniture, equipment, and tight spaces.
- Ability to safely move items and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in regular seasonal weather conditions.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including an OSHA-compliant respirator in some cases.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Availability to work some weekends.
- Enthusiasm, dedication, attention to detail, and a customer-service orientation.
Responsibilities
- Inspect customer properties and monitor lawn conditions.
- Identify lawn and pest issues and apply treatments.
- Develop and carry out recovery plans for lawns needing additional care.
- Identify issues early and ensure each yard receives appropriate attention.
- Keep customers informed and follow through on lawn recovery efforts.
- Assist in various service departments within the branch as needed.
