The Law Student will provide legal research and analytical support across various organizational initiatives, with a primary focus on the cemeteries program modernization project. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive research on Ontario cemetery regulations, performing due diligence on property rights and transfer mechanisms, and analyzing regulatory compliance requirements for cemetery operations. The student will draft and review contracts, agreements, and legal documentation related to property transfers and partnerships. Working collaboratively with the General Counsel and project team, the student will contribute to the development of a comprehensive business plan by providing legal analysis and recommendations on governance structures, liability considerations, and operational frameworks. This position offers exposure to charity law, real estate transactions, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning within a major community organization, providing valuable practical experience in non-profit legal practice.
